1990 | Fairholm Retirement Village - Strathfield

“Fairholm” was a heritage homestead at Strathfield flanked by tennis courts which was to accommodate 64 hostel suites and communal facilities known as Strathfield Gardens Retirement Village.

The original building with its wide verandahs was completely renovated to provide library, lounges and office areas with hostel suites and dining areas constructed around the garden courtyards . The main areas of the village were designed to the rear of the homestead which maintained its original landscaped curtilege from the street.

Corridor spaces were generous with small communal tea areas and seating areas en route to the dining room and central facilities. A rich colour scheme internally provided life and warmth in combination with extensive landscaping.
